When I was in high school, I lost my faith and became an agnostic. During my 20s, in the 1990s, I worked as a rock journalist, interviewing recording artists for music magazines and writing liner notes for CD reissues. From there, I went to work for New York City tabloids the New York Post (where I penned a headline that won the 2004 New York State Associated Press Award) and the Daily News.
No other speaking dates are scheduled at this time. I am currently a full-time graduate student, but am available for talks that do not conflict with school obligations. On January 3, 2007, at the Lolita Bar on Manhattan's Lower East Side, I debated author Virginia Vitzthum on the question, "Is Chastity a Good Idea for Singles?" My "Tour of the Chaste" has seen me speak to young-adult groups and college students from UC Berkeley to Notre Dame, Georgetown, Yale, and Dartmouth, as well as England, Ireland, Australia, Poland, and lots of places in between. Scroll down to see my upcoming speaking dates.
My blog, The Dawn Patrol, is currently on hiatus while I pursue a graduate degree in theology. 
I underwent a dramatic conversion to Christianity at age 31, which eventually led me to enter the Catholic Church. With my new faith came a change in lifestyle as I discovered the truth and beauty of Church teachings on chastity. That led to the publication in December 2006 of my first book, describing my personal transformation in the hope of helping others make positive changes in their own lives: The Thrill of the Chaste: Finding Fulfillment While Keeping Your Clothes On. Now in its ninth printing, The Thrill has also been published in Spanish, Polish, and Chinese.
Since my book came out, I have been featured on NBC's "Today" show and EWTN's "Life on the Rock." I live in Washington, D.C., where I am pursuing a master's degree in theology at Dominican House of Studies.
