Going Public
Now it can be told: The reason I've refrained from sharing the true story of why I left the New York Post—as opposed to the lie spread by a Post employee and published by an outrageously credulous Women's Wear Daily—is because I've been saving it for an article by George Gurley to appear Wednesday in the New York Observer.
When the article appears, I will publish a link to it here, as well as comment on it and, if necessary, add additional information or clarification about the circumstances of my job loss.
I'm terrifically honored to be profiled by the accomplished Gurley, who approached me before the news of my firing came out—he'd been following The Dawn Patrol since reading about it in Gawker. (That was the interview that perpetuated the "born-again" canard—but I'll forgive the Gawker folks because they've been very kind.) The long list of notable Gurley interviewees includes Ann Coulter (twice), David Brooks, and Dorothy Rabinowitz, as well as Victoria Gotti and Paris Hilton, to name a few.
Expect a photo too—there was a photo shoot today. The photographer told me she'd once photographed Twiggy. I couldn't have been happier.
